Valletta Contemporary (VC) is an independent space dedicated to globally recognised contemporary art. It is run by the META Foundation under the artistic direction of architect and artist Norbert Francis Attard. The gallery showcases work of highly influential and recognised local and international contemporary artists, providing a home for Malta’s diverse cultural community through its varied exhibition calendar and educational events. Located at the lower East end of Valletta – on the city’s periphery and away from the main centre – Valletta Contemporary plays an important role in the regeneration of a lesser known part of the city.
It merges past with present, offering forward-looking contemporary art in a city richly steeped in history. Its gallery shop will be stacked with designed merchandise and books from emerging local and international artists, whilst its adjoining cafe will be a go-to venue for great food mixed with new, energised discussions. Valletta Contemporary champions contemporary art as a catalyst for discussion, social cohesion, and cultural discovery.
Valletta Contemporary has had E&M Secure install a λ | Cortex CCTV System into the premises. Norbert Francis Attard couldn’t be happier with the results. Picture quality and ease of use is backed by first class service from E&M Secure, that is in keeping with Valletta Contemporary’s high standards.
The Solution
The VC is a new renovation in Valletta, they wanted a modern IP CCTV solution. It has a GENISYS-NVR-24 channel with 2 Motorised bullets outside the building, and 18 Vandal domes inside the gallery. The VC wanted the camera to fit with the contemporary feel and it was important the positioning of cameras were symmetrical in each room.
